After I posted Top 10 travel tips for Techies, I got comments asking me what kind of important gadgets should be carried by a techie. I thought I did talk about that in the next post in this Techie Travel Tips Series. So, now I am going to talk about few tips which will be crucial to you if you are someone who works on the move.

If your a full-time blogger or a busy person always on the move doing business, here are certain tips to improve your performance by a huge margin. While working when your traveling, you tend to forget important things, hopefully this should enlighten you up.
1. Avoid Wasting - When your using your laptop, try shutting down applications which are not currently in use as they drain memory and CPU power and will have direct effect on the battery life.
2. Bag Pack or Pack Bag - Get a really good sturdy bag pack or a bag with proper padding and good grip.
3. Save big - Even Bluetooth for example uses lots of power, so avoid using them as it can save a lot of your battery power.
4. Zip up - Always make sure you don’t mix up your cables. Secure each cable separately with elastic bands and place them all in a small zipped bag. Organizing yourself this way can save you a lot of time while taking them off and putting them back in.
5. Reduce Monitor Light - Less light means less power drain for longer usage. Same thing applies to speakers, either turn them off, lower them down or better still use headphones.
6. Use Power - Whenever and Wherever you can try your best to connect your laptop and mobile phones into main power. Conserve the long term life of your battery by only using it when you need it.
7. Always Backup - The most Important point as always. You have no idea when your battery will die off. You might be so engrossed in what your doing and suddenly your screen is blank. So always carry a storage device to backup your files and data every 5-10mins or so.
Always think about what kind of gadgets you are allowed to carry with you, what all can you actually use and what are the most useful ones to you.
Have you ever had an experience of using your laptop on battery and the battery dies out? What did you do then?
Feel Free to add more points to the ones I have mentioned…..
P.S: Friday Fresh Links and Announcements will be posted tommorow.

It happened to me a couple of times when I traveled overseas, the battery just went dead in front of me.
But most of the times, I was in the hotel lobby or anywhere near it so it’s kind of convenient for me to recharge.
If that happens to you too, I’d suggest you search for the nearest hotel and ‘borrow’ it somewhere from its lobby.
