After iPhone 3G taking Centre-Stage last week, its time Sony Ericsson did something to impress their loyal customers. The C905 is one of the most feature-packed camera phones ever seen yet and it comes with Xenon flash, auto focus, and face detection just to name a few.

Sony Ericsson has had various Cyber-shot phones that never made it to the US, but the 3G-enabled C905a comes with support for tri-band 850/1900/2100 HSDPA networks—including AT&T’s, which bodes well for an eventual North America release.

Whatever the case might be, the C905 makes for one of the most enticing camera phones available, with its whopping 8.1MP sensor (as good as my stand-alone camera), Xenon flash, auto focus with face detection, image stabilization, red-eye reduction, and BestPic feature (a burst mode that lets you quickly pick the best photo of the bunch).

The C905 also comes armed with GPS, good for geotagging your snapshots, along with video recording and photo-blogging capabilities. When you’re done snapping pictures, you can also crank out tunes on the media player or the FM radio, and listen with a wireless headset over the stereo Bluetooth connection. Oh yeah—you can make calls on it, too (quad-band GSM for placing call on worldwide networks, no less).

Also available are: a mobile WAP browser, support for POP, IMAP, and Exchange ActiveSync e-mail, voice memos, a slot for M2 memory cards (a 2GB Memory Stick Micro module comes in the box), Wi-Fi, and a 2.4-inch glass-coated display.

This incredible piece of technology will be available in North America later this year and this has been no word on what the pricing might be. I guess they are just waiting for their competitors to make the first move.
