Tech News

Apple has officially gone all out as T-Mobile makes confirmation that the iPhone 3G will be selling for a single Euro in Germany.

In a big bombshell of a blow to competitors T-Mobile, the supergiant mobile firm, have been given permission by Apple to shrink the ultimate gadgets price down to the miniscule value of €1. This shocking delivery has come only a single week after iPhone announced that there would be a sequel to the iPhone.

T-Mobile to sell iPhone 3G for 1 Euro

The new model will contain several upgrades from its father. The main point of the model, quite obviously, lies in its name, and I give you no points for guessing what it is. That’s right! It’s 3G; this will increase the browsing speed and allow the downloading of e-mail quickly, easily and on the move. The ever so slightly larger model also contains a modification that was hugely under request, more memory, with the option of 8GB and 16GB available, and a 2MP camera.

So what’s the catch…?

Well, you’ll probably know, there is always a catch, in this case there is no exceptions. The special offer will only be available to German customers so long as they sign-up to the more expensive price plan, this will set you back a hefty €89. So the deal is pretty much working in the same way as a free phone on a contract would.

If you just can’t afford to fork that out you’ll have to pay the proper price tag of €169.95. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. The single euro price tag only occurs for the 8GB model, whereas it will cost an extra €18.95 for the 16GB with the same price plan. If you want one of these bigger versions with the cheapest price plan of €29 you’ll have to break the piggy bank for €249.95.

Blowing competition out of the water!

You’ve probably sensed that there is a single motive behind all this; Apple haven’t gone soft on us and decided to share some of the love, that’s for sure! This could go down as one of the most elaborate marketing schemes for a long time, furthermore, would be the ultimate way to blow the competition out of the water!

Last time round the iPhone was met by a lot of competition; in fact, you could probably still hear the echoes of the past. “Ha, who needs motion sensors when they have a 5MP camera”. And you would sit there disappointed, rotating the black gadget hoping for it to do more than spin through the albums.

This time the iPhone is back with a bite. Very little competition has been presented and it looks as if Apple will milk the chance with this epic stunt.

So now it’s over to you, what do you think? A deal well worth it? A stunt gone bad?
