If you’re interested in making your blog more attractive to advertisers, here’s five tips on how you can do it.

1. Post Regularly -

Readers only read blogs with new and fresh content, and the advertisers want to be shown to the most readers possible, so if you have readers, you can have advertisers.

So if you’re in blogging to make money, you’ll actually have to blog. What a revolutionary idea!

2. Blog Because You Like It

If you don’t enjoy blogging or what you’re blogging about, you’re in the wrong neck of the woods. Passion, or lack there of, really shows in blog posts, and readers won’t like this. Remember, if readers don’t like it how can you get advertisers?

3.Clean Up Your Blog

If your blog is full of spammy looking ads and a lot of those little badges from directories and stuff that are supposed to help you get some link juice, you’re not likely to have many readers. If readers don’t come, the advertisers don’t either. Also, if you look at it from the advertiser’s point of view, they don’t want to have their ad on a spammy looking site because people will then associate their product or website with spam. This would be an advertiser’s worst nightmare. So, if you want advertisers, make sure your blog appears presentable, and professional. The cleaner, the better. That’s how the world works.

4. Stay Focused

Advertisers always look for blogs that have content relative to their product or website. If your blog jumps around to all 4 corners of the globe, it will be hard to get advertisers. They want to have people who are really interested in a certain topic to see their ad, if your posting about baseball, and then about Thai food, and then about the Egyptian pyramids, it will be hard to find an advertiser who wants to target people who are interested in all those things. Remember, advertisers target a certain topic, so if you have been focusing on a certain niche or topic, then you are already on the right track to attract advertisers.

5. Network & Socialize

Blogging can be time consuming, but you should always take some time off it in order to just hang out with or talk with other bloggers. These other bloggers might be possible advertisers on your blog, so if you build a good relationship with them, it will most likely benefit you in the long run. If the company you are interested in advertising for has a blog, try to comment and socialize on that. It will be a great way to bring your reputation with them and exposure to them up. Try and stay within your niche, though when going after advertisers, because advertisers outside of your main focus will be uninterested in advertising on your blog. Other bloggers that blog about similar things will be great to build relationships with because they’ll start reading your blog, and maybe link back to it, and comment on it, causing your exposure to go up and up. More exposure normally equals more money.

As you can see all five of this tips connect to each other and somewhat depend on each other. By doing one of these tips you’ll probably end up doing the rest of them as well, even if you don’t realize it at first.
