Advertising

In my previous post, I talked about Free advertising ways for your blog. I will now talk about Paid advertising methods you could use for your blogs if you have a budget. These methods will not only get your blog traffic but also create some kind of Brand exposure among people.

Direct Advertising

1. AD network Campaigns

a. Google Adwords - If you want value for every cent you pay, then this is it. Your AD campaigns can be used to target people interested in your niche which is very important because you don’t people wandering about your site clueless. Adwords is clearly the best advertising network and you just need $5-$10 to start a campaign for Click-thru to your site. The people clicking your ADs or links are those who want to learn more about your site, so almost everyone is a potential feed subscriber. End Result, full value for money.

b. AdBrite -
Similar to Google Adwords, but they have something which Adwords have not implemented thus far and that is the Advertise your site Here feature. If you look on any site displaying Adbrite Ads, you will see that there is a link below or on the side of every AD which says Advertise you site here. When u click on that, you get to know about the AD traffic the site gets and how much is the per CPM rate. I checked out a few sites which got like 1.5 millions+ views a day and their CPM rates were like $0.10 to $0.20 range. So thats like for every $1 spent, you get 10,000 impressions of your AD. The minimum you need to spent is $5 and you will get around 50,000 impressions more or less. Now this one is good if your looking for brand Exposure and surely it will gain you a few click-thru as well.

c. Stumble Upon - I was fortunate enough to get like 25,000 unique visitors from the very first post on the site and the traffic was mainly from Stumble Upon. Lots of people stumbled the site and thus ended up getting good traffic which can and will turn into organic traffic after a while. I can bet most of you wouldn’t have known that Stumble Upon has campaigns where you can specify which site or link you want to get stumbled and for $5 you will get like a 100 stumbles. Now this most probably will get you atleast 2000-3000 unique visitors. Worth the price eh?

2. Direct Advertising

Buy ad spaces on some really big or small sites according to your budget. The bigger the site, the more you would be asked to pay. Good marketplaces are Digital Point forums and Sitepoint. You could contact you local newspaper or magazine and check out Full page ad prices. That will surely help your blog.

3. Paid Reviews

Most accomplished Probloggers provide a service called Paid Review, which is they write a review of your site for a fee. The fee depends on how big their site is. John Chow for example writes Paid reviews for $500 per review. It is definitely a good way to get Unique visitors and traffic from blogs which has more than 10,000 feed subscribers itself and that too targeted to your same niche.

4. Paid Contests or Competitions

You could start a contest in which you could have a prize of say 100$ or more. The more the money the more buzz will be created around your blog. Lots of different types of competitions can be held related to what you are exactly looking for like traffic, feed subscribers, backlinks etc. I think I will talk about competitions in full details some other day.

5. Guest Posting

This usually will come under a free advertising category, but incase the big blog sites ask for money, then for some amount, you get to write a good post for the blog and surely a backlink to your blog. If the content is good, you will have lots of people checking out your blog and if it isn’t, no problem cos you would have got yourself a good PR5 or PR6 backlink. So either way, you will only gain.

I will try to elaborate on each of these in detail in the next few days. I still have lots to share with everyone.

Ya well thats all there, But its not like these advertising ways are available in all countries. If I were to pick countries individually and pin-point the advertising ways in all these countries. It will take me my entire life to find out. I have just given simple yet effective ways of advertising online and that too for a blog. Offline advertising is a totally different story. What you said might be good for Companies or sites selling products….

    Cheers

This is a great topic. However, given the nature of the internet marketing arena, if the business is “The Steak” and the perception created by most of the ad copy out there is “The Sizzle”, I’d offer that most folks really don’t want “The Steak” They want “The Sizzle”. In other words, persuasive ad copy still rules the day regardless of the methods used to attract visitors.
