Can Samsung’s “Instinct” kill off the iPhone?

Samsung’s 3G Instinct might be the answer. Its almost an iPhone clone with its sleek design, classy looks, touchscreen just to name a few, although its available to only Sprint users for the time being. The Samsung 3G Instinct might just be iPhone’s strongest competitor yet.

Features the Instinct has by missing from the iPhone are:
3G access for speedy browsing and downloads
Replaceable battery
Expandable memory
Haptic feedback for the touchscreen which is a slight vibration each time you tap the screen.
The Instinct is a bit thicker than the iPhone but it is a lot lighter as well. Another feature in the Instinct is the access to Sprint’s 3G “EV-DO Rev” data network through which people can surf the net, download full songs and video clips from the Sprint Music & Tv store and also the facility to connect the phone to your laptop and access net on it.
GPS navigation service with voice commands is another feature. You just have to scream onto the phone where you want to go and you get road by road indication to the place. iPhone users have always complained about their battery running out of juice pretty quickly especially when you most need them during international travel. With Instinct’s replaceable battery, all you have to do is swap the battery and your good to go. And lastly, expandable memory upto 8gb, 2MP camera, stereo bluetooth and the rest all are there.
But the iPhone does score over the Instinct when it comes to the Web Browser and Outlook web messaging as the iPhone in the next few months will have support for Microsoft Exchange servers.
Samsung 3G Instinct will come to the stores around Mid-June and I think it will be priced around $200-$250. So, has the iPhone met its match?

is it leagal to copy the iPhone?
for me it’s not an iphone competitor coz it’s not about the features anymore it’s the design that matters.
Samsung is a large company with a huge experience and big market share when it comes to mobile phones, while the iPhone market share is very limited to certain countries due to apple’s policy.
as a consumer i’d rather getting the real thing instead of looking for a similair phone with more features that i won’t need.

I admit it I am an avid Iphone lover, but the thing that cracks me up is how everyone touts on how other phones have more capabilities, but the one thing they seem to forget is the expandability of the iPhone.
Sure you can put a little expansion card into this samsung or even replace the battery, but you can’t plug in additional 3rd party accessories that expand it’s features like the iphone/ipod dock. You won’t have companies clamoring over themselves to create software for this device and you won’t have hardware companies drooling at the opportunity to add their own gps, battery, cases etc.
Phones with countless features have been around for years but no one ever does it with the pizazz and flair that apple does. The problem is that by the time that someone puts out a solid competitor to the iphone Apple will be on to bigger and better things and all that others will have succeeded in doing is creating a clone of an obsolete product in Apples eyes.

The only problem with the iphone is it is only for AT&T. It is a sweet phone but I am with Sprint and don’t want to pay the 150$ fee just for a phone
